Angle steel can be composed of various force members according to the different needs of the structure, and can also be used as the connection between members. It is widely used in various building structures and engineering structures, such as building beams, bridges, power transmission towers, lifting and transportation machinery, ships, industrial furnaces, reaction towers, container racks, cable trench supports, electric power pipes, busbar support installation, warehouses, etc. Shelves, etc.
Angle steel is a carbon structural steel for construction. It is a type of section steel with simple cross-section. It is mainly used for metal members and frames of plants. In use, good weldability, plastic deformation properties and certain mechanical strength are required. The raw material billet for producing angle steel is low carbon billet, and the finished angle steel is delivered in hot rolled, normalized or hot rolled condition.

Model Specification

It is mainly divided into two kinds of equal and unequal angles. Among them, unequal angle steel can be divided into two types: equal-thickness type and unequal-thickness type.
The specification of angle steel is expressed by the size of the side length and the side thickness. At present, domestic horn steel specifications are 2-20, numbered by the number of centimeters of the side length. The same kind of horn steel usually has 2-7 different side thicknesses. Imported angles are marked with the actual size and thickness of both sides and the relevant standards. Generally the side length above 12.5cm is large angle, the side length between 12.5cm and 5cm is medium angle, and the side length below 5cm is small angle.
The order of import and export angle steel is generally based on the specifications required in use, and the steel grade is the corresponding carbon steel grade. In addition to the specification number, there is no specific composition and performance series of angle steel. Angle steel delivery length is divided into two kinds of fixed length and double length. Domestic angle steel fixed length range of choice according to different specifications are 3-9m, 4-12m, 4-19m, 6-19m. Japan-made angle steel length of 6-15m.
The section height of unequal angle is calculated by the width of the long side of unequal angle. It refers to the steel with angular cross section and unequal length on both sides. It is a kind of angle steel. Its side length ranges from 25mm×16mm to 200mm×l25mm, rolled by hot rolling mill.
The general specifications of unequal angles are: ∟50*32–∟200*125, thickness 4-18mm.
Unequal angles are widely used in various metal structures, bridges, machinery manufacturing and shipbuilding, various building structures and engineering structures, such as building beams, bridges, power transmission towers, lifting and transportation machinery, ships, industrial furnaces, reaction towers, container shelves and warehouses.

Import and export

China imports and exports of angle steel each in certain batches, mainly from Japan and Western Europe. The export regions are mainly Hong Kong, Macau, Southeast Asia, Latin America and Arab countries. Export production enterprises are mainly steel mills (rolling mills) in Liaoning, Hebei, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and other provinces.
Imported angle steel varieties are mostly large, small, shaped angle, export varieties are mostly medium-sized angle steel such as No. 6, No. 7.

Appearance quality

The surface quality of the angle steel is specified in the standard, which generally requires that there shall be no delamination, scarring, cracking, and other harmful defects in use.
The standard also specifies the permissible range of deviations in the geometry of the angle steel, generally including curvature, side width, side thickness, top angle, theoretical weight, and other items, and provides that the angle steel shall not have obvious distortion.

Chemical composition

(1) composition indicators: Angle chemical composition belongs to the general structural rolling steel series, the main test indicators are C, Mn, P, S. Depending on the grade, the content is different, the approximate range of C < 0.22%, Mn: 0.30-0.65%, P < 0.060%, S < 0.060%.
(2) Test methods: When testing the above chemical composition, the commonly used standard test methods are GB223, JISG1211-1215, BS1837, BS Manual 19, GOST 22536, etc.

Specification

GB/T2101-2008 (General requirements for acceptance, packaging, marking, and quality certification of steel sections)
GB/T706-2008 (replacing GB/T9787-88 GB/T9788-88) (size, shape, weight and permissible deviation of hot-rolled equilateral/non-equal angle steel).
JISG3192-94 (Shapes, dimensions, weights, and tolerances of hot-rolled sections)
DIN 17100-80 (quality standards for ordinary structural steel).
ГОСТ535-88 (technical conditions for ordinary carbon steel).
According to the above-mentioned standards, angles shall be delivered in bundles, the number of bundles and the length of the same bundle shall be in accordance with the regulations. Angles are generally shipped naked, transported, and stored with care against moisture.

Mechanical properties

(1) Test methods.
① Tensile test method. Commonly used standard test methods are GB/T228-87, JISZ2201, JISZ2241, ASTMA370, ГОСТ1497, BS18, DIN50145, etc..
② Bending test method. Commonly used standard test methods are GB/T232-88, JISZ2204, JISZ2248, ASTME290, ГОСТ14019, DIN50111, etc.
(2) performance indicators: evaluation of the performance of the angle steel test items are mainly tensile test and bending test. Indicators include yield point, tensile strength, elongation and bending quality.

Weight calculation

Weight per meter = 0.00785 * (side width + side width – side thickness) * side thickness
For example, 50*5 angle: (50+50-5)*5*0.00785=3.73 (This algorithm can only roughly calculate the weight of the angle, subject to the actual hardware manual!

Classification of Angle Steel

It is mainly divided into equal-sided angle and unequal-sided angle. Unequal angle steel can be divided into unequal side equal thickness and unequal side unequal thickness. The width of both sides of the equal-sided angle is equal. Its specifications are expressed in mm in terms of side width × side width × side thickness. Such as “∟30″×30×3”, that is, the side width of 30mm, the side thickness of 3mm equilateral angle. It can also be expressed by the model number, that is, the side width of the centimeter, such as ∟3#. The model number does not represent the size of different side thicknesses in the same model, so the side width and side thickness of the angle should be filled out completely in the contract and other documents to avoid using the model number alone. The rolled equilateral angles are 2#-20#. The angles can form various force members according to different structural needs, and can also be used as connections between members.

The section height of unequal angles is calculated according to the length and width of unequal angles. It is a steel with angular cross section and unequal length on both sides. It is one of the angles. The side length is 25mm×16mm~200mm×l25mm, which is rolled by hot rolling mill. The general specifications of unequal angles are: ∟50*32–∟200*125, thickness 4-18mm
