Hot-Dip Galvanised Steel Grating Installation

Hot-dip galvanised steel grating, also known as hot-dip galvanised steel grating, is a grid-like building material made of low carbon steel flat bars and twisted square steel welded horizontally and vertically. Hot-dip galvanised steel grating has strong impact resistance, high corrosion resistance and heavy load capacity, and is elegant and aesthetically pleasing and has superior performance in municipal road foundations and steel platform construction projects. The high cost performance ratio of hot-dip galvanised steel grating is widely used in the construction of gutter roads for the paving of old and new road foundations.

The hot-dip galvanised steel grating has a special hot-dip galvanised surface which is chemically and physically stable and not easily oxidised by air and microbial corrosion. It can significantly increase the gutter loading force. Prevents collapse. The hot-dip galvanised steel grating with a flat steel spacing of 3 cm has a greater impact resistance and features a maximum span range. The longer its service life, generally in the range of 40 – 50 years. If no perceived vandalism is involved, hot-dip galvanised steel grating is a very good steel frame structure and load-bearing platform.

Hot-Dip Galvanised Steel Grating Introduction

Hot-dip galvanised steel grating is made of load flat bars and cross bars arranged warp and weft at a certain spacing, welded on a high pressure resistance welding machine to form the original plate, then cut, notched, perforated and edged to produce the finished product as required by the customer.

Types of Hot-Dip Galvanised Steel Grating.

According to the manufacturing process, hot-dip galvanized steel grating is considered as press-welded hot-dip galvanized steel grating and press-locked hot-dip galvanized steel grating; according to the surface shape of hot-dip galvanized steel grating, it is divided into tooth-shaped hot-dip galvanized steel grating, flat hot-dip galvanized steel grating, I-type hot-dip galvanized steel grating and composite hot-dip galvanized steel grating.

Type classification

1、Ordinary hot-dip galvanised grating

After the load-bearing flat steel is grooved, the crossbar is press-locked into shape. The maximum processing height of common type grating is 100mm, and the length of grating is usually less than 2000mmm.

2. Integral hot-dip galvanised grating

The height of the grating is not more than 100mm and the length of the grating is usually less than 2000mm.

3、Shade type hot-dip galvanized grating

The load-bearing flat bar is slotted at 30° or 45° and the slotted flat bar is press-locked. According to different needs, other spacing and specifications of grating can be used, such as ordinary carbon, stainless steel, aluminium and other materials. The height of the grating is less than 100mm.

4、Heavy-duty hot-dip galvanised grating

The high flat profile and the crossbar flat profile are pressed together and formed under a pressure of 1200 tons. Suitable for high span load-bearing applications.

Hot-dip galvanised steel grating installation and fixing methods

Hot-dip galvanised steel grating can be installed and fixed in two ways: welded and clamped, depending on the actual situation.

Welded installation and fixing methods.

For permanent installation without dismantling, welding can be used to fix it to the support. The specific position, on the first flat bar of each corner of the hot-dip galvanised steel grating, is a weld no less than 20 mm long and no less than 3 mm high corner weld. Galvanised steel grating is extremely cost effective and is widely used on new and old road foundations, and is particularly widespread in paving gutter road construction. It also has excellent performance in municipal roads and steel building platform projects. The plate has a high resistance to corrosion loads and a high impact resistance. The galvanised steel grating with a flat steel spacing of 3 cm is particularly resistant to impact and has a maximum transverse amplitude force, and has a typical service life of 40-50 years without human intervention.

Mounting Clamp Fixing Method

The use of mounting clips has the advantage of not damaging the zinc layer and of easy dismantling. This method is applicable to all series of steel grating and at least four sets of mounting clips are used for each steel grating. For hot-dip galvanised steel grating with a large span, it is best to install several more on the supporting steel structure.
